Creating Relaxation at Home
You don’t have to overhaul your entire home to make a relaxing space for yourself and your family. All you need is a few touches and the right mindset to get you through. Whether it’s creating a shelf to display your favourite collection, or making a corner for quiet meditation. There are easy ways to create a sense of relaxation at home.
Put aside a spot for zen
While many of us find it helpful to step outside of our routine and relax by doing things such as taking a walk or gardening, others may prefer an isolated spot in their homes to kick back. A fun, creative project is setting up a sacred space in your home. This easy-to-access space will be your personal sanctuary; a place where you can pray, meditate or just be.
Organize what you have to create an organized mind
Do you have a drawer that seems to collect everything? A pantry that you haven’t seen the back of since thanksgiving? Now is the time to rearrange, bring out the old and decide what is worth keeping. As we take stock in what we have, we are in a better position mentally to use what we need.
Create a small space to showcase the things you love
Sometimes we hold on to the things that we love but we don’t give them a chance to shine. Here is a perfect opportunity to dust off your unique collection of perfumes and bring them front and centre. Or make a small gallery wall of art and crafts that you and the kids have done recently together.
Tidy your entryway
Calm starts at home, especially right when you step inside. Try to create a relaxing ambiance as soon as you walk in the door. A bench or a pair of chairs to take off your shoes, some florals to bring the outdoors in, and a fun rug will all help to remind your mind that you are coming home to safe place.
Remember, you don’t have to turn your house upside down in order to create a place of relaxation. All you need is the idea to create a space with intention. Your home is a reflection of your daily habits as is the place that keeps you safe, secure, and relaxed.
Be kind, be well, be safe. You are not stuck at home, you are safe at home.
